Tanvir lifts Bashundhara Cup Golf trophy
The second ‘Bashundhara Cup Golf Tournament 2017’ came to a successful end amid gala festivals and prize giving ceremony on Saturday after four days of consecutive golfing at the prestigious Savar Golf Club in Savar.
GM Tanvir Ahmed clinched the champion title in overall category.
Bashundhara Group, the leading industrial and business conglomerate of the country, sponsored the four-day meet.
The main attraction of the closing ceremony was the mega prize giving ceremony where the Vice-Chairman of Bashundhara Group Safwan Sobhan Tasvir was present as special guest. He handed over the prize to the champion Tanvir at the award function.

Bashundhara Group Adviser (Public Relations) and Head of Human Resources and Administration Department Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Khandaker Abdul Wahed alongside distinguished members of Savar Golf Club and other senior Army officials also attended the final day programme.
“Bashundhara Group is a sports-loving family and has been promoting sports all around the country especially for the young generations and this organisation will keep this aspect going,” said Mr. Wahed.
“Bashundhara has been the chief patron across the country in golf and other mega events of sports including cricket, football and hockey for a long time. They will continue their assistance in sports in future,” he added.
A total of 210 golf players including 56 foreign golfers participated in this prestigious tournament braving awful weather condition and proved their enthusiasm towards golf.
Major General Rafique won in the senior category, Master Rafid Tahmid pocketed junior title, Brigadier General Abdul Mannan bagged the super senior title, Engineer K.R Mostafa clinched veteran title and Miss Tashfia won the ladies category title.
The eventful ceremony ended with a raffle draw where the participating golfers and guests won many attractive prizes which were provided by the Bashundhara Group. The four-day meet started from May 17.
