Rangpur Riders unveil BPL T20 2017 jersey

BPL T20 franchise Rangpur Riders unveiled their team jersey for the 2017 edition amid a colourful event at International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka Monday. Earlier in May this year, Rangpur started their journey afresh under the care of the country’s largest business conglomerate, Bashundhara Group.

Bashundhara Group vice chairman and Rangpur managing director Safwan Sobhan Tasvir graced the jersey unveiling ceremony as the chief guest. Rangpur head coach Tom Moody and captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza, along with local and overseas players, attended the programme.

Mashrafe said, “I would like to thank Safwan Sobhan for arranging this wonderful event for us. Please pray for us so that we can play positive cricket in the tournament.” Mashrafe also informed that this year, Rangpur have formed a good team with a bunch of skilled cricketers. He also praised Moody and hoped for better results. Rangpur chairman Mostafa Azad Mohiuddin is also hopeful of putting on a good show in the fifth edition of the money-spinning tournament.

Moody expressed optimism, saying Rangpur have the potential and calibre to claim the title this season. An android game titled “Rangpur Riders Cricket Star” was also launched in the ceremony. This is the first time a BPL franchise have taken a step to launch an android-based application. The cash-rich competition is all set to begin Saturday in Sylhet.
